Job Description :

The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating their shift to optimize Safety, Quality, and Productivity throughout the plant and department. The Supervisor will schedule accordingly to meet the goals and objectives by utilizing their team and other shifts’ support.

Goals:

The Supervisor must effectively manage processes and employees to ensure the product is being received, stored, processed, and shipped in the safest, quality oriented, cost effective, and efficient manner. This will be achieved through motivating, communicating, and managing employees and processes.

Skills:

  • Computer Skills: The Supervisor shall possess above average computer skills in order to use the company’s computer programs and be able to mentor others on their use. The Supervisor must maintain employee records for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and attendance; access training documents and personnel files.
  • Experience: Should have 3-5 years manufacturing experience, with 1-3 years Supervisory (Assistant Supervisor) experience.
  • Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including root cause analysis.
  • Leadership & employee development- abilities to lead/develop employees through mentoring and coaching processes

Safety:

  • Ensure all employees are following all safety and/or company rules and regulations
  • The supervisor must demonstrate the importance of safety by leading and modeling employees toward safe behaviors.
  • The supervisor generates the proper paperwork after an accident and/or near miss.
  • Ensure the numbers of accidents are below the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Will periodically conduct safety and training meetings. This may include tool-box meetings, safety presentations, and training.

Quality/Process Improvements:

  • Ensure employees are following and maintaining the integrity of the ISO Quality Management System (QMS), and assist employees when making changes to the QMS.
  • Communicate the importance in meeting the expectations of the customer and the goals of the company in quality.
  • Ensure employees are meeting/striving to reduce errors as per the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Assist in reviewing errors and assist in developing programs to reduce errors.
  • Review and analyze processes and make recommendations to processes that need improvement.

Employee Development and Leadership/Productivity:

  • Communicate to the staff on areas concerning Safety, Quality, policies and procedures, and Productivity.
  • Review and analyze employee’s abilities and utilize their strengths to increase productivity and efficiency. This includes meeting the production goals set forth by management.
  • Analyze and prepare employee reviews to ensure proper feedback is given and to establish a plan with the employee to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Must ensure their employees are competent to perform their position and to assist employees who need improvement by developing a plan to reach their competency.
  • Maintain accountability within team according to the policies and procedures set forth by the company. This may include verbal coaching, counseling statements and/or warning notices.
  • Develop and promote teamwork throughout the shift including working with other supervisors and employees in all shifts.
  • Lead the employees by using several methods such as modeling, communication, and motivation techniques.
  • Must be knowledgeable in overall plant processes. Will be required to fill in during absences periodically.
  • Work balance- 80% Supervisory/leadership time & 20% Production/hands on working.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
