Alaska tourism company seeking a year-round accounting assistant/bookkeeper to join our team. Must currently reside in Haines or be willing to relocate before start date of employment. Looking for a multi-tasker who can meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Must have great customer service skills and be willing to learn new skills and procedures. There will be a lot of on-the-job training as you learn the “cruise/tourism world”.

Responsibilities:

· Track cruise payment settlements and request missing settlements in a timely manner.

· Create invoices from settlements and process payments in compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Utilize and update spreadsheets in excel and google sheets.

· Submit invoices and send collection notices to clients on a regular basis.

· Generate reports and statements by deadlines. We will train on the different types of reporting.

· Support payroll processing, sales tax reporting, new hire reporting, etc.

· Account reconciliation for credit cards and bank accounts.

· Other accounting, financial, administrative tasks as needed.

Preferred requirements and skills:

· Solid understanding of basic accountingprinciples, fair credit practices and collection regulations.

· Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

· Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

· Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (Quickbooks or other full-scale ER software).

· Proficiency in English and in MS Office, including Excel.

· Great customer service skills.

· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Pay/Benefits included:

· Starting wage of $22 per hour.

· New Years, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Holidays off.

· Flexible schedule during the off season (from October thru March).

· Typical Monday – Friday 8-5 employment hours with Sat, Sun off most of the year.

*During the busy season from May-September there will be “crunch times” and some weekend and OT hours may be required in order to meet deadlines.
