We are looking for an Accounting Professional! We are a small family owned office in Mandeville and would love to make you a part of our team! Please review the pay scale, message with any questions.

You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our various monthly, quarterly & annual clients.

Being technologically savvy is a help to learn the ins and outs of the various programs and websites we use frequently.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for completion & accuracy
  • Heavy client contact required
  • entering bank activity, reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards & loans
  • Journal entries - must know what they are, their purpose and their effect on the financial statement
  • Preparing Sales Tax, Payroll processing - including scheduling payroll tax payments & preparing Quarterly Payroll Tax Returns
  • End of the year preparation of Forms 1099 & W-2

Administrative:

  • Assist with answering phones
  • Greet clients and assist with questions
  • Make appointments for tax clients
  • Lend a hand where ever needed in the office with general office duties

Income Tax:

  • Assist with printing tax returns (we can teach you - don't be scared away!)
  • Scanning in tax information brought in for preparation
  • Call clients when additional information is needed for the completion of their return
  • Call clients to let them know their returns are ready

Again - tax experience is not required, we will teach you what you need to know.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an accounting office or other related fields
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
  • This includes reporting, copying files, backing up files, restoring them
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to multi-task

We require at least 2 years of experience with QuickBooks, again, not just data entry, but ALL aspects of the program.

This is a full time position we are looking to fill, 37 hours per week and overtime is available when the work load dictates it. We work 8:30-5:00 Monday - Thursday and 9:00-2:00 on Fridays. During tax season we stay open till 5pm on Fridays. NO WEEKENDS REQUIRED.

No Phone Calls please. I am looking for someone who is going to be honest on their resume and be able to complete the tasks they are given. Our busy season is about to start, so we need to fill this position as soon as possible.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
