Since 1955, PhysLab (Physicians Laboratory Services) has provided reliable laboratory services to eastern Nebraska and western Iowa and currently operates two laboratory locations in Omaha and Lincoln with over 180 employees. We take pride in our employees and our work and are looking to expand our team by adding a Phlebotomy Technician in York, Nebraska. You will be employed directly by PhyLab but will be based at our client’s offices full time.

This person will collect specimens for clinical laboratory testing. Scheduled for 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

Candidates with a minimum of 2-3 years phlebotomy experience will be given preference.

Essential Functions:

-Regular and punctual attendance.

-Check in patients to verify ID and insurance information prior to blood draw.

-Generate requisitions and labels for each order.

-Collect laboratory specimens for internal or send-out testing by prescribed laboratory methods of venipuncture.

-Properly prepare the samples for transport (ex: centrifuge, pour off, store accordingly).

-Check laboratory results to make sure all testing is resulted appropriately and in a timely manner.

-Serve as a liaison to the laboratory and communicate any test delays or supply shortages to the appropriate individuals.

-Call the laboratory for any cancellations or add-on testing.

-Maintain specimen collection materials by periodic inventory and order supplies when necessary.

-Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to Laboratory policy.
