Position Summary

The customer service representative will be the primary contact for customers and assigned sales representatives, receiving orders and developing proposals for the aftermarket business. This position requires proactively working with the customer service team to meet service standards and reach sales goals. Responsibilities will include—but are not limited to—the following: proposal development, order status updates, order entry, receiving, invoicing, shipping including preparing international shipping documents and customer follow-up; assisting with customer order changes/returns; assisting order processing in providing complete information to process orders for entry; ability to look up assembly drawings and bill of materials; answer inbound calls, maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members; provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns; recognize and perform duties which need to be performed in an independent manner with little supervision and be an active member in team huddles, project kick-off and other meetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years experience in customer service
  • Experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing industry
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage
  • Knowledge and ability to operate a computer and enter, format, and present data using software (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic math calculations
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs in weight

Preferred Qualifications College level credential such as AS, BS, BA.

  • 3 or more years of previous order fulfillment management experience, preferably in the compressor or heavy machinery industry
  • Excellent time and priority management abilities
  • Knowledge of telephone switchboard activities such as hold, park, transferring and paging
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
  • Exact Macola or other ERP system experience
  • Attentive to Detail
