School Aides work under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide extra support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth. They are also known as paraprofessionals, teacher assistants, instructional aides, one-to-one aides, and more.

We are actively hiring for multiple position types within the Big Spring School District. We are looking to hire for:

• Multiple Disabilities Support- elementary and middle school level positions; $115/day
• Autism Support- elementary level position; $100/day
• One on One Aide- middle school and high school level positions; $100/day
• Learning Support- elementary, middle school and high school level positions; $90/day

We are also looking to hire staff who are qualified to be the following positions:

• Behavioral Technician
• Certified Behavioral Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials
• Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
• Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration
• Address communication, behavioral management, academics, fine/gross motor, daily living skills (hygiene and toileting needs), social and community living skills

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) required
• Standard clearances and health forms will be required before hire, including PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI fingerprinting and negative TB test results
