Title: Systems Administrator

Reports to: COO

Employment Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:


The Systems Administrator is responsible to maintain the computer networks and servers of all types for Avery Hall, providing technical support and making sure all the systems are running smoothly limiting work disruptions. Systems Administrator will monitor and maintain the company’s computer systems, install, and configure hardware and software, and will assist in solving any technical problems. Systems Administrator will participate in the research to continuously improve and analyze the business needs of our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, networks, and Inventory
  • Leading helpdesk efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)

  • Setting up accounts for new users
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technology
  • Coordinates all IT projects and ensures company resources are utilized appropriately.
  • Train and assist users with the use of software from Paperwise and Applied Systems.
  • Advise employees on web and email related issues.
  • Perform Basic Help Desk duties for 85+ employees
  • Deploying new PCs and troubleshooting Windows issues
  • Implementing the appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Assist in maintaining a Disaster Recovery Plan and deploying the DRP in case of a disaster.
  • Other duties as assigned

Objectives / Performance Standards:

  • A degree in Information System (not essential but an advantage)
  • Personable, presentable, and articulate.
  • Effective project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The routine repair and maintenance of computer system
  • Maintain the hardware and software inventory for the company.
  • Must be proficient in research and evaluation in the company.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


1. A degree in Information System-a plus but not required


2. Must have CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ or A+ or Network+ Certification or a MCSA Certification or greater.

3. Hyper-V, Exchange Server, SQL, and Windows 7/10

4. Email skills-troubleshooting

5. User Administration in Active Directory

6. Strong communication, organization, time management, problem solving, and technical skills.

7. Self-motivated with initiative, integrity, and thoughtfulness.

8. Commitment to ongoing professional development through industry sponsored educational programs.

9. High School Diploma and/or GED.

10. Five plus years of experience in Management of PCs and Active Directory Network environment.

11. Capacity to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines

12. Ability to multi-task and be able to resolve problems
