Job Description :

SUMMARY

Over the course of a summer break, incumbent will work closely with other intern(s) and the Director of Engineering to design, source bill of material (BOM) components, engineer, and release to manufacturing a new go-to-market product. Will also work closely with Marketing and Sales on the product introduction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

· Collecting and analyzing data on product performance through customer and production contact

· Investigating product improvements

· Developing a project plan and timeline

· Setting a test plan, ordering material, and interpreting test data

· Preparing and presenting formal product presentations

· Hands-on testing and validating designs

· Requires occasional travel to customers, vendors, and Align’s manufacturing facility

· Preparation of material for and giving of formal presentations of products

· Plans engineering programs and makes assignments to staff according to need

· Reviews product design for compliance to project goals, specifications, and company standards

· Will focus either on process engineering or new product development, but must be flexible to work on either. New product development must be undertaken with the goal of standardizing custom designs into stock offerings

· Coordinates activities and sets priorities to resolve allocation of resources

· Proven acumen with SolidWorks

· Perform structural and fatigue analysis on product designs

· Regularly work to source and select components to integrate into designs

Job Types: Full-time, Internship

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
