Job Description :

This individual is to assist the practice with all aspects of patient scheduling, clerical duties, insurance verification, collection of co-pays, payment posting, and related tasks.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to organize patient visits with busy medical office and maintain a cheerful disposition towards patients, co-workers, and medical professionals.

2. Skilled with adjusting focus, resources, and time to meet changing priorities and objectives throughout the day.

3. Detailed-oriented to ensure excellence in providing care and follow-up with patients.

4. Desire and ability to achieve excellence in everything you do for patients, co-workers, and medical staff so that they will have confidence in your ability.

5. Ability to work well with patients, medical staff, and back-office staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with greeting, check-in/ check-out, re-scheduling patients throughout the day as well as collect payments and post both insurance and patient payments.

2. Answer phone calls throughout the day.

3. Maintain schedule for clinic to ensure appropriate work-flow for Doctor(s) and technicians.

4. Assist with managing communications (phone, fax, email, & correspondence) with referring doctors, medical practices, hospitals, and related entities.

5. Help Scan and file appropriate portions of electronic medical records for patients.

6. Perform basic triage for patients to be seen including scheduling emergent patients.

7. Assist as needed the accounts payable manager with insurance information and payment arrangements as needed and ensure that prior-authorizations are received appropriately prior to patients being seen.

8. Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned by the doctor or practice administrator (such as requesting lab reports, obtaining patient records, occasional light cleaning, coordinating office events, etc.)

9. Ability to work Monday through Friday, 9am-5:30pm reliably.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Preferred 3-5 years medical front office experience.

3. Willing to train motivated candidate with proven record of increasing responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
