Job Description: Oversees pharmacy operations including purchasing and preparation and distribution of drugs. Consults on drug utilization with medical and nursing staff, including reviewing patient medication history for items such as allergies and drug interactions. Compounds and dispenses medications using prescriptions authorized by a physician. Instruct patients on medication including potential drug interactions. Supervises all pharmacy technicians. Verifies that all medications have been correctly dispensed by pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy Manager will report to Store Manager. They will work 40 hours per week.

Position requirements: Include high school diploma, pharmacy degree, and previous experience as a pharmacist or ability to be trained. Must have ability to lift 50 pounds and be on feet at least eight hours per day.

The Pharmacist will review all prescriptions before they are dispensed. They will consult with prescribing staff to ensure that all prescriptions are for legitimate medical purposes and appropriate for the person’s age and condition. The Pharmacist will maintain inventory control for both legend and controlled substances. They are responsible for supervising all pharmacy technicians including yearly reviews, scheduling, and hiring/firing. They also are responsible for monthly medication reviews at the nursing homes. The Pharmacist will provide consultations on all prescription and assist clients with over the counter medications as requested.

Additional responsibilities: Include assisting with phone calls, assisting clients with questions, as well as ringing out clients. Other tasks as they may be assigned.

Continuing Requirements: Must maintain at least 6 hours of continuing education provided by Petersen Drug annually. Must maintain necessary certificate of licensure as required by the State of Nebraska.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
