Product Development Engineering Co-op / Internship
The Product Development Engineering Co-op/Internship will assist with the below tasks as part of a larger R&D Engineering team
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participates in building feasibility samples and prototypes of new customer designed assemblies and/or components.
2. Aids in assessing process steps in prototype and pre-production builds to suggest areas of improvement.
3. Contributes to the design, development, and assessment of test fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids.
4. Assists with developing, evaluating, and qualifying new equipment
5. Collaborates with inter-departmental teams to collect data on and document cycle times, UPH, and yield metrics from pre-qualification builds.
6. Prepares and releases engineering documentation (ex. process procedures, routers, BOMs, etc.) in readiness for batch qualification and design verification and validation builds.
7. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members.
8. Assists with performing pre verification and validation studies such as characterizations, capability studies, and DOE.
9. Assists with performing verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA), of product processes and designs including data collection and statistical analysis.
10. Collaborates with internal contacts as part of a team concerning product/process design to develop efficient production methods.
11. Aids in analyzing design concepts through experimentation and other testing.
12. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
· Attending four-year College or university for Engineering, Medical or Science.
· Technical writing training preferred. Statistical training preferred.
· Experience with statistical software program preferred (Mini-Tab, Applied Statistics, etc.).
· Knowledge of Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
· Desire to work in a medical device development and manufacturing environment.
· Solidworks experience preferred but not required.
