Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Department: Lab
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Location: Bridgeport, WV
Classification: Non-exempt
Schedule: M-F, 2:00-10:30 p.m. (subject to change based on business needs)

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician assists our Quality Control Manager (QCM) and other laboratory staff in maintaining all processes related to quality objectives.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Our top priority is to operate in a safe, efficient manner. QC procedures must be strictly followed to ensure all finished goods and raw materials adhere to the highest degree of quality. Upon completion of testing, the appropriate leadership must be notified of any product that has tested outside of internal specification. Provided materials tested are within specification, all necessary documentation must be completed and filed appropriately.

• Performs daily quality analysis of samples submitted from the production
• Screens raw material samples
• Performs standard QC operating procedures for using and calibrating such instrumentation as automatic titrators, viscometers, analytical and bench balances, pycnometers, film applicators, hegman grind scales, analog durometers and various other instruments related to the polyurethane field
• Prepares documentation of QC procedures and testing results
• Performs standard QC tests on Research & Development samples
• Completes regular cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory facility and instruments
• Lives corporate values
• ISO Responsibilities: o Ensures understanding of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives o Ensures quality product is produced by testing against STOCKMEIER and customer specifications o Ensures lab processes are followed consistently o Participates in investigations as needed
• Completes other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• College degree in applicable field (i.e., math, biology, chemistry) is required
• Laboratory experience is preferred
• Firm understanding of mathematics is required
• Basic understanding of Organic chemistry is preferred
• High degree of organizational and writing skills to be able to document processes and results
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others

• Must possess a private driver’s license
• Will undergo drug and background screenings
