General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents and to coordinate total nursing care for residents.
• Coordinating work within the unit as well as with other departments and units.
• Reporting pertinent information to the R.N. Nurse Manager or the Director, Nursing Services.
• Overseeing Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses in completing their assignments.
• Assesses residents and analyzes obtained information to develop nursing diagnoses.
• Plans and implements individualized care plans for residents based on assessment; evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan developed for the resident and updates care plan as appropriate.
• Administers medications and treatments to residents; administers I.V. fluids, supplemental nourishments.
• Performs rounds according to established schedule; documents residents' progress, deterioration, changes in condition, etc., as necessary; documents pertinent information on medical record such as blood pressure, pulse, etc.
• Receives report from the licensed nurse on the previous shift and relays information to nursing staff; gives report to incoming licensed nurse at the end of the shift; prepares the 24-hour report and submits to the Director, Nursing Services.
• Informs Physician of changes in residents' conditions; transcribes, clarifies, and implements physician's orders.
• Reviews current MARs monthly for any missing initials; prepares the MAR/treatment record for the following month.
• Provides support and consultation to residents’ families to assist them in solving problem and meeting resident’s personal needs.
• Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibit behavior as set forth by the Phoebe Ministries Code of Ethics and Business Integrity in the performance of their duties.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
