SUMMARY

Delivers orders to retail food stores, mass merchandiser accounts, wholesale grocers, restaurants, vending machines, hotels, businesses, or institutions and merchandises these accounts with products such as soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, tea, juice, coffee, and energy drinks by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calls on and delivers to all customers they are given sales deliveries for.
  • Drives truck to deliver beverage product to customer's place of business in highway, rural and city street conditions in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Works without direct supervision, effectively resolves customer complaints when necessary.
  • Places stock on shelves, in coolers, or on racks and ensures all equipment and product is clean, properly labeled, priced, rotated and fresh.
  • Informs regular customers of new products or services.
  • Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
  • Operates computerized inventory, delivery, and invoicing system correctly.
  • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Prepares and maintains current reports of business transactions.
  • Promotes and cultivates good customer relationships through professional, courteous, and quality service.
  • Collects money from customers, vendors, and balances truck inventory and cash collected.
  • Keeps assigned company vehicle clean and performs daily inspection and routine fluid, air, and oil maintenance and record keeping procedures.
  • Wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment.
  • Wears Company provided uniform and presents a professional image to customers and the work place.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related

experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to effectively perform ten key and keyboard data entry and corrections to invalid entries. Ability to use hand truck to transport product between truck and vendor or other storage locations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Commercial Drivers License, Class A with air endorsement. Must meet company driver qualifications. Demonstrate safe use of forklift or electric pallet jack operation and be certified in such.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularity lift and/or move up to 70 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift/or move objects weighing up to 200 pounds using a hand truck or other manual lifting device. These loads are occasionally required to be moved up or down stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job is 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts.

Wage is DOE

Must be able to complete a background check and drug test.
