Duties include observing the activities in and around client’s property and buildings. Work involves assessing problem situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution in a safe and reasonable manner.

This position is great for someone looking to supplement their income. Most of the assignments are Sunday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. There are other opportunities to work additional hours during the week in the evenings and when special events are scheduled.

The work location for this posting is in the Holland area. Special events are throughout Holland and Grand Rapids metro areas.

Job Summary:

• Observe unusual behavior, prevent theft and harm to the client’s property, employees and guests;

• Patrol property and buildings by foot and/ or vehicle.

• Remain at a fixed post to observe activities and check in visitors;

• Answers routine inquiries and directs visitors to appropriate areas;

• Completes daily activity and incident forms;

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service;

• Complete all mandatory training;

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Communicate orally in the English language with the general public in a one-on-one, face-to-face setting.

• Communicate orally in the English language by telephone or two-way radio.

• Work cooperatively, courteously, yet firmly with all segments of the general public.

• Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

• Experience in security or related field, or course-work, is preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a clear criminal history, including felonies or misdemeanors.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Must have dependable transportation.

• Must be able to commute to client’s location.

• Must have a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.

• Must have a current concealed pistol license or retired LEO in good standing.
