Part-time: 12 hours/week-Hours are typically 9am to Noon, 4 days/ week: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant is an outgoing, welcoming, creative and professional church office staff member who supports Smith Memorual Church, UCC with reception, communication and administrative tasks. The abilities to work independently and as a team player in a faith community are essential, as are the abilities to multi-task and work well with office technology.

Qualifications

o Highly proficient in the use of general office equipment and technology, in particular: Microsoft Office Suite, Mail Chimp, mail merge, databases and social media.

o Excellent communications skills (written and oral), and the ability to represent the church in a professional manner.

o Ability to maintain professional, interpersonal and a high degree of confidential boundaries and discretion, plan, prioritize, organize efficiently and effectively

o Familiarity with Biblical, theological, liturgical and music terminology is desirable, prior church or non-profit administrative work is a big plus.

Role and Responsibilities

o Prepare weekly and special occasion worship bulletins from provided content, update greeter and hymn boards weekly, recycle worship bulletins, record worship attendance

o Prepare and email weekly Digital Steeple from provided content.

o Prepare monthly KYP newsletter from provided content, create a contents section

o Participate in publicity for church events through print and electronic preparation and distribution

o Participate in an annual Stewardship campaign through mailings and other communication

o Maintain church member database, directory and mailing lists

o Coordinate file copies of meeting minutes

o Prepare and distribute the church annual report with provided content

o General office duties, including email and phone call needs and follow through, pick up and process mail, maintain church calendar, purchase supplies, paper and digital records management, maintain file of building use requests

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
