Manufacturing Engineering Co-op / Internship
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op/Internship will assist with the below tasks as part of a larger Manufacturing Engineering team
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists with developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes.
2. Provides suggestions on training production processes to lead operators.
3. Assists with developing labor standards, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
4. Helps with estimating production times, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
5. Collaborates with internal contacts as part of a team concerning product/process design to develop efficient production methods.
6. Assists with performing verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA), of product processes and designs.
7. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
8. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members.
9. Develops a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
10. Evaluates yield, OEE, or applicable metric and responds to the data to improve the state of the process.
11. Investigates Non-Conforming Material, determines the root cause, and dispositions the material with assistance from the manufacturing team.
12. Prepares documents for Engineering Change Orders.
13. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
· Attending four-year College or university for Engineering, Medical or Science.
· Technical writing training preferred. Statistical training preferred.
· Experience with statistical software program preferred (Mini-Tab, Applied Statistics, etc.).
· Knowledge of Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
· Desire to work in a medical device manufacturing environment.
