Summary:

This position will perform tasks independently while working closely with individual team members to ensure that objectives are met. Intern will assist with various projects related to engineering, production, updates, and related business processes in support of various functions. Potential full-time hiring opportunities will be based on evaluations made upon completion of the internship period.

Skill Set & Educational Requirements

· At least a 3rd year student at an accredited college or university and working toward a Bachelor of Science in a technical field. Manufacturing and Industrial engineers are strongly preferred, but others may be considered.

· An understanding of engineering principles.

· Understanding of AS9100 and ISO-9000 requirements and standards.

· Some understanding manufacturing processes and procedures, CNC machining disciplines such as turning, milling, grinding or other machining methods and techniques, and inspection requirements.

· Ability to compose technical documents and effectively convey technical information.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and other work instructions.

· Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and with CAD programs (Siemens NX preferred)

· Good problem solving and decision-making abilities.

· Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 6S, and Lean Enterprise practices / concepts

· Detail Oriented, Organized & Initiative

· Must love to learn and develop new ideas, be able to learn on the fly and love technical challenges.

· Fluent and effective in English written and verbal communications.

· Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present information and respond to questions.

Citizenship Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the United States, US Persons for ITAR

Work Schedule:
A minimum of 20 hours a week, but at times additional hours may be available or required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities or meet target deadlines on specific projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

· Assists Directors, Managers, or engineers with assigned tasks and in meeting company objectives.

· Assists with the research, development, testing, and proper maintenance of all company products.

· Assures the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, files, engineering records, prints, and tasks of assigned projects.

· Learns and becomes proficient in the company operating system software and the engineering software programs.

· Assists with the development of engineering schedules, budgets, and projects as assigned.

· Assists with quality assurance of all products.

· Assists with the development and maintenance of the parts catalogs, owner’s manuals, and operational instruction manuals, or preventive maintenance for the assigned products/ machines.

· Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of company products and services.

· Manages expectations and projects with a professional attitude by complying with company policies and procedures at all times.

· Willingness to support company training and cross functional efforts.

· Comply and promote company policies pertaining to Code of Conduct, safety practices and export compliance.

· Issue, know and execute PAS Quality procedures and PAS mission statement.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee needs to be aware that this position is physically straining. The ability to cope with stress and multiple tasks is essential. Employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
