As the MaineDelivery Operations Manager, you will set the agenda and lead our Operations Team in providing safe, efficient, best-in-class home delivery services for our customers. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overall business performance spanning service, safety, capability and profitability. The Operations Manager will provide hands-on, visible leadership to all MaineDelivery employees by effectively planning operations for success, instilling a safety culture and establishing a ‘service first’ mindset. This leader will ensure that MaineDelivery crews are staffed, trained and scheduled effectively, vehicles are procured and maintained appropriately to support operational requirements. This leadership position is based at the MaineDelivery headquarters office in Bangor, Maine.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the hiring, training, performance and accountability of all crew and staff members employed to handle receiving, order fulfillment, delivery, returns and administrative duties;
  • Actively manages, schedules and dispatches delivery teams to ensure that customer service expectations are met or exceeded at efficient crew levels with optimized vehicle routing;
  • Performs frequent customer engagement to ensure high satisfaction surveys for MaineDelivery services;
  • Prepares customer pricing, compiles operational cost analyses and supports budget development;
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all MaineDelivery fleet vehicles and equipment;
  • Maintains efficient workflow, manages inventory, security, and safety compliance;
  • Drives process improvement to promote operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase profitability;
  • Oversees timely and accurate customer billing, oversees payroll tracking and verification;
  • Upholds and enforces company standards and policies related to performance, attendance, professional appearance and personal hygiene;
  • Travel as required – Meeting with customers and vendors, attending industry-specific training/conferences.

Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree and appropriate experience is desired;
  • 8 years of experience in home delivery, transportation, moving, and/or warehousing industries is strongly preferred;
  • 4 years of operations leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated experience with compiling cost reports and preparing pricing for freight or delivery services;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are critical;
  • Home delivery or final mile transportation experience is highly preferred;
  • Understanding of and compliance with Department of Transportation safety policies and procedures;
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 software solutions, including Outlook, Excel and Word;
  • Experience with fleet dispatch programs or transportation management software;
  • Must be able to perform to standards without constant or immediate supervision;
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
