We are seeking a highly-motivated & organized Project Manager with 8+ years of large automation systems installation and integration experience. The project management role requires exceptional listening, communications, and organizational skills to manage all aspects of assigned projects from inception through customer acceptance. This person is highly flexible and easy to work with through all project changes that are bound to happen. They are also disciplined and creative to ensure projects are delivered on-time.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading our vision and robotics projects and ensuring delivery of the total system and integration. The role requires close collaboration with our customers, subcontractors, and project team to ensure the completion of project delivery objectives within the established schedule. This position is ultimately responsible for working on FIRM costs for quoting, project planning, day-to-day project oversight, facilitation and escalation of issues, leadership, and support of project staff to meet milestones, and the accurate documentation and reporting of project status. This role is essential for ensuring that we are “easy to do business with.”
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
  • Associates’ degree and/or equivalent work experience will be considered

Job Description
The essential job functions for this position are:

  • Work with sales and customers during quoting phase to define project Scope of Work documents (what we call our Project Workbook)
  • Coordinate with internal engineering groups (electrical, mechanical, software, and process) to ensure design direction meets customer expectations and timing.
  • Create Project Workbooks and FIRM project cost grids during quoting phase for FIRM Quotes.
  • Host a Project Kick-Off meeting with execution team to firm up the project schedule, budget and major milestones.
  • Manage project schedules and maintain/improve project budgets through on-going execution team meetings.
  • Create formal Installation Contractor RFQ, host install contractor site walk-throughs for FIRM quotes and after project kick-off, and work with purchasing to obtain quotes/issue POs with subcontractors.
  • Track and manage project material deliveries to meet schedule.
  • Coordinate onsite activities during installation and startup.
  • Provide daily technical direction to contractors during system installation (when dedicated installation engineer is not available).
  • Track project and customer open issues.
  • Work with customer to facilitate system “buy-off” on schedule and obtaining signed final buy-off forms.
  • Manage project invoicing and coordination with Finance personnel.
  • Quoting and negotiating project change orders with customers/purchasing.
  • Travel within the United States to customer locations is mandatory.
  • Work in a factory environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for this position must possess all of the following qualifications:

  • Experience integrating large automation systems in manufacturing plants.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail to manage all facets of projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Motivated, intelligent, and hard-working.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, understand, and communicate external and internal customer concerns.
  • Results Focused and Action Oriented.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and resolve.
  • United States citizen.

Preferred Qualifications
The following skills are desired, but not required:

  • Experience integrating FANUC, ABB, Kawasaki, Kuka, and other robot systems.
  • Experience integrating large multi-robot systems in manufacturing plants.
  • Knowledge of automotive paint and dispense systems.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
