A few feet away from the restaurant is our dynamic, bustling retail market and boutique. Duryea’s Market features a barista station with fresh baked pastries, take out from the restaurant, and offers one stop shopping for a meal at home with local artisanal products. The adjoining boutique is the perfect spot to shop for summer essentials, chic home décor, and your favorite Duryea’s brand merchandise.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a talented and experienced RETAIL MARKET & BOUTIQUE MANAGER who shares our passion for hospitality and thrives in a guest-focused and teamwork-based environment. Applicants that are detail oriented, organized, high energy, and possess an upbeat attitude will be an excellent fit for this position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain daily operation of retail market and adjoining boutique and meet the expectations of guests and food service standards in terms of appearance, set-up, service and hospitality
  • Manage front and back of house POS system as well as online orders through e-commerce platform
  • Schedule staff and track punctuality
  • Generate tip report and submit weekly report to payroll
  • Manage the operation during service hours, supervise staff, and ensure that service is carried out according to established procedures
  • Operate a register, manage take out sales as well as boutique orders and sales. Instruct the rest of the team on steps of service
  • Act as a liaison between the restaurant and market with respect to take out orders
  • Mentor and train new hires. Handle ongoing weekly scheduling of staff to maintain adequate levels of staffing and provide feedback and document performance-related concerns
  • Manage all customer interaction to be certain of prompt and effective service including greeting customers, answering the telephone, receiving and relaying boutique purchases, take-out orders and responding to customer inquiries
  • Product knowledge; must be prepared to accurately answer guest questions
  • Order inventory, manage receiving of weekly deliveries and restock shelves
  • Curate and organize market and boutique shelves
  • Prepare store and advertising displays
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations
  • Exhibit Professionalism; proper grooming, speech and demeanor
  • Promote positive public and employee relations at all times and work as a team member

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of progressive FOH experience in a full service, high-volume retail operation
  • Possess strongly developed and proven leadership and communication skills
  • Food handling experience a plus
  • Experience working with POS systems and F&B ordering, inventory and cost control systems
  • Interest in coffee, local product, and retail
  • Possess strongly developed communication skills
  • Self-motivated, dedicated team player with positive attitude
  • Flexible Availability, open to work AM & PM schedules
  • Must be able to work standing for an extended period of time

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience. Seasonal housing for 1 provided. While we take the time to review all applications, only those suitable for interview will be contacted.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
