Job Objective:

Build and maintain profitable sales in the region by prospecting and developing new business from independently owned and operated stores to small and large chain operators and wholesalers.

Job Scope:

The position will be responsible for sales of branded, private label commodity protein items, and grocery lines that the company represents. Field travel to the nearby islands (Marshall Islands, FSM, Palau, and Saipan, etc.) will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow the sales on the assigned customer accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the responsible territories.
  • Introduce product lines, company awareness and special services. Build category and mix of product ranges that meet customer needs.
  • Help create and support merchandising strategies that increase volume and profitability.
  • Work collaboratively at our local office with local team members along with stateside Management, accounting, logistics and sales support.
  • Understand competitive forces from the customer perspective that includes barriers to trade, current suppliers, promotions, and incentive programs.
  • Field travel that builds and maintains company and customer relationships. Sales plans and forecast that achieve corporate objectives.
  • Assist and perform other tasks as required.

Job Requirements & Experience:

  • 5+ years in an import-export/food related sales position required.
  • Prior experience traveling within territory
  • College degree preferred
  • International A/R collections experience
  • Experience with creating and executing marketing presentations
  • Strong communication attributes verbal and written in English
  • Track record of cultivating customer relationships
  • Collaborative team player
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and high integrity with a track record of success

Job Skills & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and company ERP system
  • Understanding of order processes and supply chain management
  • Promotional and marketing creative skills
  • Customer prospecting and engagement for new business
  • Cold calls via telephone and email
  • Reporting and forecasting experience
  • Time management, Multitasker and Organization skills a key core
