Job Description:

  • The Sanitary Engineering Field Technician is primarily responsible for performing advanced field data collection and troubleshooting for a variety of water-resource-related projects.
  • This position will require entering confined spaces such as sewer and stormwater manholes.
  • Will perform stormwater sampling and water/sewer/stormwater system/outfall inventory and sewer flow meter calibration.
  • Maintain field equipment and company vehicles and report repair needs as necessary.
  • Communicate and present project information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Will work with GIS principles and GIS-based data collection software.
  • Duties include field work, frequent local travel, overnight travel, and overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree desirable.
  • Two (2) years of related experience preferred
  • Class B CDL License desirable, but not required.
  • Certified for confined space entry.
  • Prior experience with stormwater sampling and water/sewer/stormwater system/outfall inventory and sewer flow meter calibration is highly desirable.
  • Vac Truck experience is required
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, possess strong organizational and time management skills and excel in a multi-discipline project team environment.
  • Candidate must be able to read, write and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedural documentation.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply them to practical situations.
  • Experience with GPS data collection technology and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Candidate must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record, as required by our insurance company, and must successfully pass periodic drug testing as required by company policy.
