The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the overall administration, planning and execution for statewide and regional construction and maintenance contracts. The SPM oversees and coordinates a variety of field personnel focused on delivering an unparalleled customer experience through exceptional planning, teamwork, coordination and communication. Overall responsibility for job and contract profitability and aligning teams to meet short- and long-term goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The SPM is responsible for understanding the Company’s safety commitment and Policy Program and proactively implementing and advocating safety in all operations, at all times.
  • Serve as project focal point for coordinating communications with customers, consultants, internal stakeholders and/or sub-contractors.
  • Manage a staff in the range of 15 up to 30 employees both direct and indirect reports, including subcontractors and consultants.
  • Ensure direct control of specific projects that are assigned and could include statewide or regional activities. These include but are not limited to planning and execution of resourcing, staffing, budgeting, execution, and documentation of all aspects of the projects.
  • Work with senior leaders to make sure that the performance metrics of each project are met, and the appropriate planning and innovation are being applied to assigned projects.
  • As required, the SPM will call upon and request support in the execution of such projects, anticipating needs for surge and augmented technical support to meet project requirements and growth projections.
  • Prepare all documentation, including project schedules, standard operating procedures, technical manuals, and reports for internal and external customers in the execution of the assigned projects.
  • Ensure that project schedules and budgets are adhered to and any changes to the project are properly documented and addressed in a timely manner to include; requests for information, requests for change orders, materials submittals, adjustment of staffing/resource levels, including equipment, etc., to meet the project needs.
  • Ensure fiscal management of assigned projects to include but not be limited to: estimating, budgeting, planning, invoicing, materials management, inventory, cash flow management and reporting.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS in related field and 5 to 7 years’ experience leading and managing construction projects in Transportation Technology and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems.
  • Direct experience with Transportation Technology, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Electronic Tolling, Traffic Data Monitoring/Collection and/or Transportation Construction is preferred.
  • Computer and technology skills (MS Office Suite & Windows Operating Systems) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply contract requirements ideal.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar software) and either Microsoft Project or Primavera a plus.

OTHER SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Prior experience leading and managing multiple teams in a regional capacity.
  • Focus and dedication to Safety required.
  • Proven leadership, teambuilding, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to implement Quality Assurance processes resulting in the delivery of high-quality work within established timelines and completion dates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work together with customers and internal teams within the evolving technical environment of deployed field technology and integration, Electronic system installation, commissioning and troubleshooting environment.
  • Ability to interface with customers and staff to transfer relevant knowledge to a technical and field construction workforce.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EIT or PE License preferred

Successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background, drug screen and MVR.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
