Gorsuch is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. This is a exempt position, annual salary of $82,000 or more dependent on skill and experience. The Assistant Controller works closely with all members of the accounting and operations team throughout the Company. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of four staff. Key duties include being highly involved with audit and sales/use tax management and staying compliant within GAAP accounting practices. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

Job Duties

• Oversee day-to-day operations of three staff
• AP
• Bank, credit card reconciliations.
• Asset management
• Sales/use tax management
• Balance sheet reconciliations and related journal entries, ensuring all transactions and accounts are in compliance with GAAP.
• Participate and support the annual audit, including coordination of timing, work, and requests from third party auditor
• Analyze variances to budget to develop corrective action
• Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and processes are in place for smooth operation of day-to- day business
• Set up new vendors
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance required
• CPA preferred
• 2+ years progressive accounting experience required
• 2+ years audit experience preferred
• GAAP accounting experience required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with GP Dynamics software preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience in Retail Sector preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
