Position Title: PRN Pharmacist

Reports To: Pharmacist-in-Charge (Pharmacy Manager)

Location: NPS Pharmacy at LivWell Community Health Services (Paducah, KY)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs, devices, and supplies, including controlled and dangerous substances pursuant to all state and federal laws
  • Provide patient care and education
  • Direct activities and daily workflow efficiency of pharmacy technician
  • Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescription
  • Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel for the purpose of providing quality patient care and maximizing pharmacy performance
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
  • Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
  • Proactively identify and analyze problems and provide effective solutions
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with company standards, including dress, personal appearance, and grooming
  • Additional related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors (RPh) or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university
  • Pharmacist license in good standing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
  • Registered with the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation or State Board of Pharmacy
  • Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx
  • Strong Technical and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
  • Able to efficiently operate in a fast-paced environment, while fostering positive customer relation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience

Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience preferred

  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical/Health Records (EMR/HER)
  • Experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), including AAHIV certification
  • Experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the 340B program
  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • NPS Pharmacy at LivWell is located inside LivWell Community Health Services at 1903 Broadway Street, Paducah, KY, 42001.
