Job Summary

The Production Manager will lead safety, quality, and production activities for machining department. Utilize Epicor software to plan jobs based on sales order and stocking requirements. Create build packets for shop floor operation.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Maintain a safety first culture
• Actively participate in error reduction and driving down the cost of poor quality.
• Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Complete daily management of hourly employees including labor utilization and efficiency, coaching, training, and performance reviews.
• Lead continuous improvement processes to improve overall plant efficiency.
• Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
• Work with other departments to ensure all daily escalations are resolved.
• Develop and oversee manufacturing processes and quality checks for machining department
• Daily management of hourly employees including labor utilization, performance coaching, and training initiatives
• Lead scrap reduction improvements of raw material
• Work with cross-functional teams to solve daily roadblocks
• Sustain business pillars: EHS (Safety), Quality, Delivery, and Cash
• Required to incorporate principles of 5S in daily work and support 5S activities throughout the shop floor
• Utilize software to create jobs based on sales orders and material planning requirements to meet external customer demands and internal inventory levels.
• Execute on Continuous Improvement (CI) activities through analysis of process parameters such as downtime, efficiency, and FPY using the LEAN Toolkit (Gemba, Spaghetti Diagram, VSMs)
• Assemble production packets for stock jobs for floor.
• Create project build hours based on known standards and engineering drawings
• Improve time standards and estimation process for total facility

Required Skills/ Abilities / Traits:

Strong oral and written communication skills

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience

Formal Lean and Six Sigma training

Experience with MRP systems

Prior supervisory experience

MS Suite

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, or crouch.

Long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.

Able to lift 10lbs with or without accommodations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
