Position Title: Security Guard/Boiler Operator

Position Summary:

Operating the boiler and providing security for the facility are the primary responsibilities of a security/boiler person. Rotating shift work is required. Additional assignments include but are not limited to general maintenance of the facility and general laboring tasks in mowing grass, weed-eating grass, and cleaning grounds.

Essential Functions:

• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, property or product damage (e.g. roof leaks, water leaks, frozen pipes, fires, etc.), and ensure security of facility.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Operate and serve as boiler operator in charge of the boiler room on a rotating shift.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment associated with the boiler operations.
• Start and shut down dust system and air compressors.
• Effectively communicate with and properly relay instructions to the next shift operator.

Position Requirements:

• Possess skills required to operate boilers.
• Sufficient physical strength, ability, dexterity, vision and hearing to perform all the work of this position.
• Ability to move product to prevent damage using lift trucks or by hand.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, other operators and plant personnel.
• Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to identify potential safety hazards, including unsafe boiler operations and take immediate action to correct the hazard and report the situation to supervisory personnel on site.
• Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Qualifications:

• Two years of experience operating a boiler preferred.
• Knowledge of sprinkler system preferred
• Forklift experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.65 - $16.98 per hour
