Tech180 is seeking a driven Senior LabVIEW Developer to join our dynamic team of engineers. Tech180 develops hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems for testing safety-critical control systems in aircraft and spacecraft. Tech180 has worked with well-known commercial and military aerospace organizations and is on the leading edge of test system and modelling development.

The successful candidate will produce internal and client-facing software scripts, APIs, firmware, plugins, and applications to enable the full benefits of Tech180’s test platforms. Knowledge of circuit fundamentals and aerospace sensors, actuators, and communications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and support LabVIEW software ranging from simple APIs to complex distributed applications
  • Collaborate with Tech180 Systems Engineers, R&D, and customers to define software requirements
  • Determine scope of work estimates and complete development within project deadlines
  • Define, document, and evangelize software development best-practices
  • Participate in internal code and design reviews
  • Train technicians, engineers, and other Tech180 personnel in using developed scripts or applications
  • Assist Tech180 Applications Engineers with final system V&V

Requirements

General

  • B.S. in Engineering, with preference for Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar backgrounds
  • Related industry or research experience

Software

  • 5+ years of experience developing complex LabVIEW code modules and applications
  • Experience interfacing with NI hardware drivers
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Comfort with use of source code control

Systems

  • Interest in understanding electrical systems and communications busses (your code would help implement and test these)
  • Interest in design and development of internal production test systems

Professional Skills

  • Ability to independently research and troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent written technical communication skills
  • Ability to translate between the business & technical concerns of internal customers and software solutions

Helpful Skills

  • Knowledge of NI TestStand
  • Familiarity with NI VeriStand
  • Experience with Linux
  • Familiarity with Python, especially basic data manipulation using pandas, openpyxl, etc.
  • Continuous integration, especially in LabVIEW
  • Ability to interpret electrical circuits and schematics, basic knowledge of circuit analysis
  • Knowledge of test equipment and data acquisition (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.), especially the NI PXIe platform
