SUMMARY: Reports to the VP of IT Operations, with responsibility for leading the operations group in the areas of system support, operational support, on-Call Management, scripting and report writing/data interrogation. They lead the Operations team within the IT organization in support of member/customer service. The Lead will serve to establish service expectations, train team members, and evaluate existing applications and systems for suitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Expected to perform the duties of a Level III Operations Analyst.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with management outside the department to ensure end user satisfaction. Interfaces with all Credit Union departments to ensure they are all utilizing the system effectively and efficiently and where appropriate implements or makes innovation/improvement recommendations to the IT leadership team.
  • Primary liaison for Board of Directors technology implementation to include managing the third party service contract.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for service issues and matrix manages other I.T. staff to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop, encourage, and train members of the IT Operations team to ensure cross training happens as is appropriate and the group functions well beyond a “Level I” helpdesk. Ensures the team obtains and maintains a thorough knowledge of the capabilities and options of the I.T. supported systems and assists Credit Union departments in selecting the appropriate options.

Operations and Support:

  • Continually review and refine operational procedures that ensure APGFCU systems are functioning as expected.
  • Participate in annual disaster recovery testing. Ensure all recovery point objectives are met according to procedures.
  • Manage workflow within the team to include triage, escalation and communication. This position is also responsible, in collaboration with IT leadership, for determining operational responsibility versus a project/infrastructure responsibility.
  • The Lead provides top tier support on issues within operations before engaging other areas of IT. In addition, this position will review tickets to identify trends and areas of focus to improve overall Credit Union efficiency and productivity.
  • Manages and documents the assignment/accessibility to APGFCU systems including adding, modifying, and removing user access
  • Identifies potential operational risks that APGFCU faces and develops alternative plans and actions to assure continuity of operations in the event of a disaster.
  • Direct and manage third party providers to ensure products and services are operating as expected.
  • Develops an annual budget for new purchases and upgrades to end user tools (PC, scanners, etc…).
  • Conduct periodic analysis of infrastructure and application performance and contributes to the annual IT strategic plan.
  • Work in conjunction with other IT team members to implement controls to maintain data security in keeping with APGFCUs security policies.

Professional Development:

  • Remain current with developments in the information technology field and their potential impact on the Credit Union's present and future needs.
  • Continue technical professional development through seminars and workshops, membership in technical and professional organizations, and through reading technical publications and journals.
  • Network with others in the credit union industry and interface with vendors.
  • Maintain certifications requirements and work towards acquiring new certifications as required.

Other: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

ADDITIONAL: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field. Experience can be credited in lieu of education. Certifications such as MCITP (Server/Desktop) strongly encouraged. Advanced knowledge of Desktop and Network Operating Systems on a Wide Area Network required. Current certification in one of the following areas is required. (MCITP, VMware, CCNA)

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six years of work experience in administration of a LAN/WAN environment consisting of Microsoft servers, VMware, Linux, Cisco routers and switches in a large scale networking environment. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), Microsoft Server domain, Active Directory Management, Windows networking required. Hands on experience with desktop application installs, client server installation, application implementation and troubleshooting is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of financial institution applications/systems. Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret end-user business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, such as, board, executives, managers, and end-users. Possesses effective interpersonal skills to effectively elicit technical information from the non-technical end-user.
